The method starts by interviewing key people with an understanding of your product or service. Multiple rounds of interviews are usually required, and the topics cover all disciplines – engineering, operations, marketing, sales, finance as well as partners, suppliers, customers and more.
Fundamental questions about the product, the market, and operations are addressed. All options are explored, from “do nothing” through product changes, operational changes, marketing and sales changes, financial re-engineering to acquisition and beyond.
The findings are arrived at by an iterative process that includes close interaction with the principals. This ensures that nothing is overlooked and that there is general buy-in to any recommendations that are made.
